Why you should join the Pack!
How is Pack ABA different from other ABA companies?
At Pack ABA LLC, our difference is our deep commitment to hands-on, individualized care and a collaborative partnership with your family. Many large companies have long waitlists and a one-size-fits-all approach. We are intentionally structured to be different. We have no waitlist, and we are committed to responding to every inquiry within one business day. Our approach goes beyond the textbook by meeting your child where they are and empowering you with the tools you need for lasting success.
We've tried ABA before and it didn't work. Why should we give Pack ABA a chance?
We understand and empathize with your past frustrations. At Pack ABA, we believe that a negative experience often stems from a lack of collaboration and a rigid, generic approach. We are committed to an Empathetic Partnership, where your family's unique goals and insights are the foundation of our work. Our Adaptive Expertise means we don’t just apply a standard program; we teach our professionals to be innovative thinkers who tailor every strategy to your child's specific needs. We define success based on what is meaningful to your family, not on a pre-written checklist. We invite you to experience a new kind of ABA therapy—one that is personal, flexible, and truly focused on creating joyful, meaningful change for your child.
We work with children and adolescents from 2 to 17 years old. We are dedicated to meeting each client exactly where they are on their journey.
Yes, we specialize in providing personalized in-home ABA therapy. We are located in Litchfield County, Connecticut, and our services are provided within the entire county.
Can I receive parent training as a standalone service?
Yes. We understand that parents are key to a child's success, which is why we offer parent training as a standalone service. This can be done in-person, through remote sessions, or in small group workshops.
Are you accepting new clients? Is there a waitlist?
Yes, we are currently accepting new clients and do not have a waitlist. We are able to start parent training cases immediately and have a team member ready to begin in-home therapy.
Getting Started & The Intake Process
Getting started is a straightforward process designed to be as simple as possible for your family. The first step is for you to reach out to us by phone or by filling out our online form. We are committed to contacting you within one business day to schedule your initial phone consultation. This conversation is a chance for us to get to know you, understand your family's needs, and set up a time for a formal assessment if we determine that our services are the right match for your goals.
The very first session is not intensive therapy, but a time for rapport building and getting to know your child in their natural environment. The BCBA will engage your child in activities they enjoy, observing their unique strengths, interests, and how they interact with their world. The goal is to build a trusting relationship and gather information that will help us create a truly individualized and effective treatment plan.
The duration of ABA services is unique to each child and family. Some children may receive services for several years, while for others, a shorter, more focused period of therapy may be all that is needed. We will work with you to set meaningful goals and continuously track progress, collaborating with you to ensure the treatment plan is always moving your child toward greater independence and a better quality of life.
Parent & Family Involvement
We view you as a vital partner in this process, and your involvement is absolutely crucial for your child's success. Your active participation helps ensure that skills learned in therapy generalize to all aspects of your child’s life, from home to school. We will work with you to help you become an expert in your child’s care, guiding you to apply the principles of ABA in your daily routines. This collaborative, hands-on approach is not only recommended for effective outcomes but is also a standard requirement by most insurance providers.
We understand that challenging behaviors can be difficult and overwhelming. Our team is trained to handle these moments with patience and compassion, as we view behavior as a form of communication. We will never use a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we work with you to identify the underlying cause of the behavior and create strategies that are effective and respectful of your child and family. We will guide you on how to respond to these behaviors in a way that builds a positive, supportive environment.
We believe in complete transparency and open communication. You will be kept informed every step of the way through regular meetings, progress reports, and ongoing conversations. We will share the data we collect and work with you to make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan to ensure your child is always growing and progressing toward their goals.
Financial & Logistical
While most insurance companies require a formal diagnosis to cover ABA therapy, we still encourage you to reach out. We can be a valuable resource for a wide variety of behavioral challenges, from refusal behaviors and sleep difficulties to social communication challenges and difficulties following routines. If you are seeking services without an insurance referral, we can proceed on a private pay basis. If obtaining an insurance-covered diagnosis is your goal, we can advise you to speak with your child’s pediatrician, who can provide guidance on the next steps for a formal evaluation.
What are the requirements for payment through insurance?
To use your insurance benefits, you will need a formal diagnosis from a qualified professional. Our team will then work with you to verify your insurance benefits and obtain any necessary pre-authorizations before services begin. We will also let you know about any out-of-pocket costs, such as co-pays or deductibles, that you can expect.
Private pay is an option if you do not have insurance coverage, have not yet obtained a formal diagnosis, or prefer not to use your benefits. With private pay, you are responsible for the full cost of services as they are rendered.
During our initial conversation, we'll discuss your family's needs and determine which of our services would be the most effective. Once we have a plan, we will provide you with a clear and transparent fee structure that outlines the total cost before we begin.
Private pay is a flexible and highly effective option that allows us to provide targeted, person-centered services without the limitations of insurance requirements. When you choose private pay, we can focus on:
Behavior-Specific Plans: We can create tailored support plans for a wide variety of behaviors that may not be covered by insurance, such as non-compliance, sleep or feeding difficulties, social skill challenges, and issues with following routines.
Limited or Brief Interactions: Not every situation requires a full, long-term ABA program. With private pay, we can offer brief, focused consultations or parent training sessions to address a specific issue.
Flexibility with Fees: Our private pay services, including parent training, in-home services, and community-based support, are available on a flexible fee schedule that allows you to choose what works best for your family. This can include a flat rate for a comprehensive behavior plan or a flexible hourly rate for ongoing support.
Some insurance plans may offer partial or full reimbursement for out-of-network services. We can provide you with the necessary documentation, often called a "superbill," that you can submit to your insurance company. We recommend checking with your insurance provider directly to understand their specific policies on out-of-network reimbursement.
The duration of ABA services is a highly personalized decision. While research consistently shows that Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) can lead to significant outcomes for young children, we believe that an over-reliance on this model can be a mistake. Many companies may over-prescribe hours, which can be overwhelming for families.
Our clinical philosophy at Pack ABA is to prioritize a collaborative approach with your family. We empower you to become an active partner in your child's journey, which can make lower-intensity services incredibly effective. By teaching you how to apply ABA principles in your daily life, we can help your child make meaningful progress with fewer therapy hours.
We will work with you to find the right balance, continuously tracking progress and making data-driven decisions on a schedule that is effective for your child and fits your family's life.
